NOPSSCEA SEASON 37 TABLE TENNIS FOR TEACHERSNOPSSCEA
The NOPSSCEA Table Tennis for Teachers enlightened the gym of VMA Global College as NOPSSCEA’s participating schools, particularly Christian Academy of Bacolod (CAB), University of St. La Salle (USLS), Riverside College (RC), Tangub Christian Academy (TCA), Bacolod Christian College of Negros (BCCN), Asian College of Aeronautics (ACA), VMA Global College, St. John’s Institute (SJI), John B. Lacson Colleges Foundation (JBLCF), and Notre Dame of Talisay, sent in their toughest players to kick their rivals. Teachers aren’t just teachers; they can be athletes, too. When you look at them, you can say that age doesn’t matter because they are strong enough to enjoy and play as hard as they can.
The event was composed of Men’s Singles & Doubles, Women’s Singles & Doubles, and Mixed Doubles. It was around 9:00 AM on September 2, 2017 that the event launched. Pastor Allan Tupas started the event with a prayer and followed by the opening remarks of Dr. Ervie Gallespen, NOPSSCEA President. Dr. Gallespen quoted, “WE ARE ONE NOPSSCEA, WE ARE ONE FAMILY.” Yes, we are one family and we will slay on the 37th Season of NOPSSCEA. Before the games officially started at 9:20 AM, Dr. Carlitos Orola, Vice-President of NOPSSCEA, gave a message wherein he said that, “when the great scorer pens down your name, it is not how you win or lose the game, but IT IS HOW YOU PLAY IT.” It was an inspiring message given by him.
These games gave the teachers from different private schools the opportunity to gather, compete and meet their fellow co-teachers, who are part of the NOPSSCEA organization. It was their chance to unwind and have fun through playing their favorite sport. Win or lose, they have done their best and it was a privilege to have them participate, or else the event would not have been successful. The skies were blue when the event officially ended in the afternoon. It may have been tiring but it was well spent and left a great memory for everyone involved.
